A "Random Pattern" Metal Roof

Here's a video of the custom natural steel roof we wrote about in a previous post. The customer wanted something that would effectively mimic the texture and depth of wood shakes, but with none of the fire hazards associated with that material. Given the heavily wooded setting of this home, it's a wise choice.

We chose Corten steel that would rust slowly and naturally to complement the home and the native vegetation surrounding it. We also designed the individual pieces so they could be installed in concentric circles that decreased in radius - again, to complement this distinctively-shaped home. The random, pattern-less design makes for a beautifully homespun aesthetic, which greatly appealed to the homeowner.
