Pop quiz - you're building a lovely garden retreat and you want the structure to be both distinctive and classic. How do you do it?

Simple. Lots of windows, beautiful french doors and a roof that makes a statement. Yep, you should definitely top it with an effortlessly elegant - and amazingly durable - copper roof system!

And that's exactly what this smart lady did. Our client chose a batten seam panel in solid copper, and we scaled both the panel widths and batten seam size to work well with the small scale of the charming garden house. These pictures were taken after the roof had about six months to age, and you can see it's taken on that dull, gray-brown color with bits o the shiny copper still visible.

That irregular appearance - the result of copper developing its unique protective patina - is always a certain way of identifying real copper. It's readily apparent on this cute, comfortable garden retreat, and we're as pleased with the final result as the happy homeowners.
